Robertson Nursing Home Registered Nurse

A registered nurse with valid UK PIN no is required to work in our nursing home with elderly clients. You will need to be a competent and genuinely committed to providing excellent care to our residents. Day and Night duties; flexible working hours, starting £16 ph.

TITLE: REGISTERED NURSE

REPORTS TO: MANAGER/DEPUTY MANAGER

ACCOUNTABLE TO: MANAGER

Purpose of the Position

  • To be responsible for the happiness and wellbeing of residents within the care home ensuring that their physical, emotional and social needs are met whilst helping them to achieve their full capabilities;
  • To ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the care home in accordance with current regulation and company policies;
  • To strive for continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards of care and clinical excellence are delivered;
  • To use up to date clinical knowledge and skills in the care of residents and be responsible for the safe administration of medication in accordance with current legislation and the NMC.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To act in accordance with the NMC and the Company’s Code including standards of conduct, performance and ethics, acting professionally at all times, evidencing ongoing staff development;
  2. To assess the individual needs of residents, ensuring they receive the highest standards of holistic care and attention, promoting independence, choice, dignity and respect as well as engaging with relatives and offering them support;
  3. To participate fully in the overall care of each resident, maintaining care plans, advising the GP and other professional colleagues as necessary of residents’ condition and requirements, ensuring the safe delivery of nursing care;
  4. To deal with admissions and discharge of residents in accordance with company policies and procedures;
  5. To actively promote good Health and Safety routines, adhering to safe working practices and making sure that the staff team also understand and comply;
  6. To participate actively in supervision, statutory training and continual professional development, staff meetings and review sessions;
  7. To ensure that staff are deployed efficiently and be mindful of maximizing resources;
  8. To carry out any other tasks set by the Manager.
